ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Jan. 17, 2023) Sailors from Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling’s Ceremonial Guard carry the urn of Cmdr. David Wallace into the Naval Academy Chapel. The Naval Academy honored the life of Wallace with a funeral and burial service with military honors. Wallace, a permanent military professor in the leadership, ethics, and law department, died peacefully in his home Dec. 26, 2022 after a two-year battle with cancer. His dedication to the development of future naval leaders was evident in his mentorship of midshipmen and his work to establish the Midshipman Peer Coaching Program. H

He is survived by his beloved wife of 25 years, Valerie, and their three daughters, Savannah, Madeline, and Emma.
