The mother stands back as the cubs take a bite out of the impala. MASHATU GAME RESERVE, BOTSWANA: SEE THE moment FOUR cheetahs wrestled a poor ANTELOPE down to the ground before ripping into its neck. In one image, the doomed 80-pound impala antelope came face to face with four hungry cheetahs. In another, the 100-pound cheetahs worked as a team to take the antelope down by digging their claws into its rear. Photographer Mike Dexter (34) from Cape Town, South Africa, captured the incredible images in the Mashatu Game Reserve, Botswana. From just 25-yards away, Mike watched on as the ravenous cheetahs took down the lone impala over one agonising hour. Cheetahs are known for their rapid mealtimes as they tend to quickly demolish a kill before nearby lions or hyenas catch the scent. Cheetahs hunt in coalitions and they?ll often wait until the prey is nearby before using their powerful 70 miles-per-hour speed. The images were captured on a Canon 5D IV camera using a Canon 300mm II lens. / Mike Dexter
