INDIAN OCEAN (June 6, 2013) Sailors from the guided-missile destroyer USS Gonzalez (DDG 66) prepare to come alongside with members of the Tanzania People’s Defense Force navy during a training event aboard Gonzalez as part of a military-to-military bilateral training event. The two navies exchanged best practices and exercised maritime interdiction techniques. Gonzalez is on a scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the Naval Forces Europe-Africa area of responsibility.
