The requirements for the degree of Master of Arts are: 1. Eighteen semester hours of credit in residence studybeyond the Bachelors degree, with collateral assignmentsofficially approved. 2. A thesis, approved in subject-matter and requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy are: 1. Continuation of the candidates work at least two yearsbeyond the Masters degree. 2. Completion of at least twenty-four semester hoursresidence RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, SOCIAL SERVICE 33 3. Examination in French and German demonstratingfacility in the use of these languages. 4. An oral examination in the field of study and of thedissertation. 5. A dissertation, approved in subject-matter and treat-ment, constituting a contribution in its field of learning.
