Escape of Confederate General John Hunt Morgan, 1863 (c1880). Morgan was captured after leading the campaign in the American Civil War that became known as 'Morgan's Raid', in which his troops crossed the Ohio River and raided across southern Indiana and Ohio. Together with six of his officers, he succeeded in escaping from Ohio State Penitentiary and was able to return to Confederate territory.
