The nymphal growth must be fairly rapid as indi- viduals of the last instar occurred in early July and the first adults were observed on the morning of July 15th, one male being caught and another observed. At the same time one of the earlier instar forms was observed but at this time nearly alt were in the preimago stage. For the summer of 1916 which was late and the insects prob- ably delayed in development, specimens were secured June 14th,.
