Hewas a prominent citizen of Guilford. After the war ComradeBishop obtained employment in New York City and is nowone of its most esteemed business men. He takes the greatestinterest in the welfare of the comrades with whom he servedduring the early part of the w^ar. CHARLE5 N. BIS5ELL, of Hebron (see portrait and account of his be-ing wounded, page 416), enlisted October 7, 1861; mustered in Octo-ber 26, 1861; wounded at Proctors Creek, Va., May 14, 1S64, losinghis right arm. He was honorably discharged October 25, 1864,time expired. Comrade Bissells ancestral record will be found under thename of his brother. Corporal Warren H. EDWIN O. BLATCHLEY, of Guilford, Conn, (see portrait and amusingincidents, page 32), enlisted October 17, 1861; mustered in October26, 1861; honorably discharged October 26, 1S64, time expired. After the war Comrade Blatchley returned to Guilford andwas respected and loved by his fellow tcnvnspeople. He died ofconsumption in 1874, aged 43 years. 766 HISTORY AND REMINISCENCES Comrade Blatchley, known more generally by his comrades as Sod, was a unique character. He was a man of large heart, whocould never do too much for his comrades. He was untiring in hisdevotion to the Battery. If a nurse was wanted to tend the sick, ifany injured or wounded man needed attention, Blatchley was thefirst to offer his services.
