From the situation of these deposits, it is clear thatthey sustain a definite relation to the comparativelysmall streams coming down into the plain from themountains to the northwest. Of these the Bishaho,which comes through Nankau pass, is the largest. Evi-dently, at the time of the deposit of the deltas, water-level was met at the base of the mountains at theelevation of six hundred feet, which is that of the headof the delta spreading out from the Nankau pass.
