A rare gold-covered rondel dagger of Burgundian type possibly second half of the 15th century. With well-formed slender triangular blade cut with alternating arrangements of very narrow flutes and ridges, tapering to a very narrow point off-set in section, rectangular ricasso cut with pairs of deep angular flutes over the outer face and the sides, the inner face struck with a miniscule, the outer face with two marks inlaid in gold, one an orb and the other resembling the Greek letter Phi, iron hilt covered entirely in gold foil, with rondel guard, Additional-Rights-Clearance-Info-Not-Available
