Groot Constantia, the finest surviving example of Cape Dutch architecture, is one of South Africa’s foremost monuments.

Groot Constantia, the finest surviving example of Cape Dutch architecture, and one of South Africa’s foremost historical monuments and tourist attractions, dates back to 1685. Groot Constantia has been producing wine for more than three centuries. The vineyards are tucked in a steep valley on the eastern side of Table Mountain. The name Constantia is irrevocably linked to the most famous wines to be made in South Africa.
