An adult female common (or hazel) dormouse (Muscardinus avellanarius) sitting in a cherry tree (Prunus genus). This hibernating, nocturnal rodent is the only species of dormouse native to the British Isles, and lives mainly in deciduous woodland. Photographed in Dorset, UK, in June.
