Childrens' author Geraldine McCaughrean, who has written the authorized sequel to Peter Pan, 'Peter Pan in Scarlet', at her country cottage home in Berkshire, England. The officially sanctioned sequel to J. M. Barrie's classic was launched in 2006 by Simon and Chuster in the USA and at a Kensington Palace gala party by Oxford University Press in Britain. McCaughrean, who has published 125 books for children was chosen in a competition organised be Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children which holds the British literary rights to the original.
