Anchored in the Yarlung Zangbo River, Darchog prayer flags mark the base of rugged mountains in Brahmaputra Valley in Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

Proped up by poles anchored in the Yarlung Zangbo River, Darchog prayer flags are iconographically and symbolically related to the Dhvaja, banners or flags composed of the Ashtamangala, the "eight auspicious symbols."
