THE OOLOaiBT A May Day Afield. On May 11, 1913, in company withMr. John Bausewein of Bloomfield,the writer spent five of the most pleas-ant hours afield that he has experi-enced for many a day. The countrycanvassed was that part of MorrisCounty, New Jersey, which is knownas the Troy Meadow section. Startingat the terminus of the trolley line inCaldwell, the course pursued wasalong Bloomfield Avenue to PineBrook, thence over the Hanover NeckRoad to the Rockaway, thence alongits southern shore to the Junction ofthe Mliippany, thence to the Pleasant-dale Road to Swinefield Bridge overthe Passaic River and finally to Beau-fort. While walking over this sectionmany novel and interesting features,ornithologically and oologically occur-red and these are worthy of morethan passing interest.
