the appian way (the regina viarum) is the "queen" of the ancient roman ways, it connected rome to brindisi, apulia in southeast italy. along the appia antica we can see many elements and monuments such as cecilia metella’s mausoleum, the best known sepulchre on the via appia, a symbol of the “regina viarum”.
