Scales radiately striated, 19-21 ^, IJ between lateral line series, which is formed of very deep scales, and ventral, 9 round caudal peduncle; lateral line reduced to 3 or 4 tubules. Yellowish above, scales edged with black, white beneath; a black streak on each side of the head, passing through the eye ; a blackish vertical streak at the root of the anal; dorsal and anal with a red bar and one or two black ones.
