The annua! meeting of the State Flo-rists Association was held January 8and was well attended. The meetingwas an interesting one and the little din-ner following seemed to have tlie ap-proval of all. Final action was takenon rules and scales, which shall hence-forth regulate the judging of flowersand plants exhibited at the meetings andshows. As the rules are very strict andthree most able men were elected judges,it is safe to say, that awards securedfrom this society will stand for highestexcellence. Anythina; scoring 95 points. Stuart & Haugh, Anderson, Ind.—Afine vase of Lawson, Enchantress, LadyBountiful and Cardinal. Weber & Sons Co., Oakland, Md.—Maple, dark pink, scored 85 points. John E. Haines, Bethlehem, Pa.—Im-perial, fancy variety; Pink Imperial,scored 86 points. This variety is ashnde deeper than Lawson. The E. G. Hill Co. also showed a vaseof seedlings among which were severalgood scarlets. No. 128 being especiallynoticeable. The firms new rose, RheaReid, received a great deal of attention,scoring 90 points. The color is apeculiar, pleasing shade of red
