The beautifully restored Norse Mill near Shawbost on the west coast of the Island of Lewis in the Western Isles, Scotland.

The vikings had considerable influence on the Western Isles, but little visible evidence of them is found on Harris and Lewis. Tangible evidence of their influence is seen in the design and workings of watermills which were once common on the island.
