The stalks keep green and are brittle and juicy, not hardening like other varieties of sorghum, making excellent fod- der, either green or dried, which is highly relished by cattle, horses and mules. The seed crop is also heavy> sometimes yielding sixty bushels to the acre. For the grain sow in rows three feet apart, three to five pounds of seed to the acre. The vines when fed green make the best fodder and are very nourishing. The Whippoorwill is the most popular sort and yields a good crop both of fodder and peas.
