Throughout the years 1888 and 1889the incoming tide of home-seekers and prospectorsfor business and of parents seeking school advan-tages for their children so overtaxed the capacityof the place in respect to buildings as to lead cap-italists to consider as never before the profits ofbuilding. There was much public discussion ofthe need of a building and loan association,although it was some time before this need wasmet.
