Bishop Bridge, Norwich.


Bishop Bridge over the River Wensum in Norwich Norfolk was built in 1340 and was originally part of the city's defences complete with large gatehouse. The gatehouse was demolished over 100 years ago have long before sustained cannon ball damage during Kett's Rebellion in 1549 which, with the passing of time, had rendered it unsafe. The bridge is the oldest in Norwich and one of the oldest in the country.
