Langley (83) 84 IIISTLIKIC DAYS \\hile \olunteers were forming the three Bridgetoiicompanies for tlie Twenty-fourth Regiment, the young menof Fairfield and Downe Townships were, with patrioticardor, rallying for the organization of Company D, of theTwenty-fifth Regiment. This company was composedlargely of oystermen and farmers, young men of brain andmuscle. Amid the boom of cannon, the music of a drumcorps, and presentation of a beautiful flag at the hands of alocal committee, the ciimpany left its rendezvous in Fair-field for the seat of war.
