The Wigan Youth zone was launched with a series of events in Mesnes Park in the town centre. A parade of the fA Cup in a horse drawn carriage with Dave Whelan was central to it. THe youth Zone is a project of Dave Whelan's and the Wigan Athletic football team players contributed over £1,000,000 to the project.
