Pont Neuf
The view taken in 1828, shows the Pont Neuf in Paris, France. (Prise Entrée le Quai des Augusyines et celui des Orfévres) The bridge was commenced in 1578 from a design by Androuet de Cerceau and completed in 1604 by Charles Marchand. The first stone was laid by Henry III. It has two unequal sections one with seven arches and the other with five which meet at the Ile de la Cité on an esplanade with a statue of Henry IV. There are excellent views from the bridge of the Louvre, the Tuileries, and other bridges across the River Seine. The image was drawn by J Nash Under the direction of A Pugin and engraved by Kernet.
