These unkind thrusts were never merited, as isproven by our first years record of service, but they had beenfounded upon the remarks of some of our own infantry Ford put an end to all such unfair criticism, as we beatour adversaries on their own ground. We are enabled, through the kindness of The National Tribune,of Washington, to include in this history a graphic account of thatbrilliant fight, published some years ago in that journal.
