Boundary Stream Scenic Reserve in New Zealand's Hawke's Bay is a Mainland Island where local pests lilke rats, stouts, possums and others are strictly controlled or eliminated by DoC. Therefore natural plants like Matai, Rimu, Lancewood, mistletoe or Kakabeak has a chance to grow. From the Kakabeak Clianthus maximus flowering here scientists counted in 2005 only 153 plants in the wild. Boundary Stream ist ein Schutzgebiet in der Provinz Hawke's Bay in Neuseeland, in dem eingedrungene Schädlinge wie Ratten, Wiesel, Fuchskusus und andere von der Naturschutzbehörde DoC mit Giftködern und Fallen bekämpft werden. Dadurch haben die einheimischen Pflanzen wie Rimu- und Matai-Bäume, der Papageienschnabel oder Misteln wieder eine Chance, groß zu werden. Hier blüht ein Papageienschnabel Clianthus maximus, 2005 zählten Wissenschaftler in der Natur nur noch 153 Pflanzen dieser Art.
