Mistletoe. 18th-century botanical artwork of a sprig of mistletoe bearing berries (white). The common and binomial names in use at the time are at bottom. One of the stones of the berries is labelled at upper right. The artist is named as the Scottish botanical illustrator Elizabeth Blackwell (1707-1758). Artwork from 'A Curious Herbal' (London, 1737), a reference work on herbs and medicinal plants used by physicians and apothecaries.
