HD 15082 b exoplanet. Computer artwork of a view across the surface of an alien planet towards the planet HD 15082 b, and its star HD 15082. This parent star, also known as Wasp 33, is some 378 light years from Earth in the constellation of Andromeda. HD 15082 b, the planet detected orbiting this star, is the hottest known planet. It has about 4 times the mass of Jupiter, and orbits very close to its parent star (a fiftieth of the Earth-Sun distance). It was discovered in 2010 by the SuperWASP project (Wide Angle Search for Planets). Unlike other planet hunting projects, which focus on a particular area of the sky, this one covers the entire sky.
