Martian landscape. This HiRISE image shows a degraded crater in Cydonia Mensae, objective of this observation was to determine the nature of the mechanism that causes a crater to disintegrate. About half the crater has turned into disorganized group of mounds, and half of the rim is still intact. This may be related to the process that creates chaotic terrain. A unique optimised version of NASA imagery. Credit: NASA/JPL/UArizona
