Crop research. Researcher Jean-Yves Peyron looking at a crop plant in a greenhouse. The greenhouse is part of ENTHIP (France's national horticultural school) in Angers, France. Peyron is working to preserve the heritage and diversity of cultivated crops and vegetables, and improving their flavour and their yield and resistance to disease. Some of the less well-known crops he is working on include the Chinese artichoke, the tuberous-rooted chervil and varieties of pumpkins.
