ANDKRSON, Charles li., firstcounselor to Pres. Hugh S. Gowans inthe presidency of the Tooele Stake ofZion, was born April 11, 1846, in An-skog parish, Elfsborgs Ian, Sweden;baptized by A. Borreson June 23, 1861,emigrated to Utah in 1862 and locatedin Grantsville, Tooele county, where hestill resides. He went to the Missouririver as a Church teamster in 1866, af-ter the poor; filled a mission to Scan-dinavia in 1878-80, where he labored as a traveling Elder in and later as presi-dent of the Gothenburg conference,Sweden. For nineteen years he hasfilled the position of first counselor inthe presidency of the Tooele Stake ofZion: previous to that he was a mem-ber of the High Council of said Stake;. hf has also served Grantsville city ascouncilman and mayor; has served twoterms in the Utah legislature, and isat present a member of the IndustrialBureau of the Church. Elder Ander-son is a thorough business man and oneof the foremost citizens of Tooele coun-ty. Since 1879 he has emigrated thirty-one persons from the old country. RICHARDS, George Franklin, .second counselor to Hugh S. Gowans inthe presidency of the Tooele Stake ofZion, was born Feb. 23, 1861, in Farm-ington, Davis county, Utah, son of,Franklin D. Richards and Hfe was baptized Oct.]2, 1873, by Oliver L. Robinson and con-firmed the same day by AbrahamRose. He graduated from the Univer-sity of Deseret in English languageand literature, in June, 1881; took up acourse in mathematics the followingyear in the same institution, and aftercarrying the same for
