Chronic cholecystitis, light micrograph

Light micrograph of a haematoxylin and eosin-stained section of a gallbladder showing chronic cholecystitis. The gallbladder wall is thickened. There is chronic inflammatory infiltrate that appears to extend beyond the muscular layer. The glands below the surface and within the muscle are called Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses.
