H., July 23, 1787, and died in Strafford, Vt., July 26, 1868. He prepared for college at Moors Acad-emy, Hanover, N. H., with the intention ofentering Dartmouth College, but owing tohis fathers heavy financial losses, was forced, to give up his cherished plan. He studied law with Ebenezer Brown,Norwich, Vt., 1805-06; with Seth Cushman,Guildhall, 1806-09. He was admitted to theEssex County bar in December, 1809, andpracticed his profession in Waterford, Vt.,December, 1809-April, 1810; removed toStrafford, Vt., April, 1810, where he resideduntil his death.
