Warley Moor Reservoir (also known as Fly Flatts Reservoir) was completed in 1872 on the moors north of Halifax, West Yorkshire. The reservoir has an area of 28 hectares, is 14 metres (45 feet) deep and holds up to 880,000,000 litres (193,000,000 imperial gallons) of water. The reservoir, at an altitude of 410 metres (1345 feet) is the home of Halifax Sailing Club, the highest sailing club in England. Originally built by the Halifax Corporation, the reservoir is now owned by Yorkshire Water. A late summer sunset view, from Cold Edge Road, towards the north end of the reservoir and dark moorland plateau heights. Common Bent Grass (Agrostis capillaris) stands at the roadside in the foreground of the view).
