water rushes through a breached dam in Southern Iraq, the dam was constructed by Saddam Hussein to prevent water from flowing across the marshes in southern Iraq after the end of Gulf war 1 in 1991, from the Tigris river to the north the Euphrates to the south. The dam was breached after Saddam downfall as part of a restoration project to reflood the marshlands in 2010
