At the restricted area of the AJC Bose Indian Botanic Garden in Kolkata, beside river Hooghly (the Ganges) the almost ruined Roxburgh House. Here the 'father of Indian botany', Dr. William Roxburgh (1751 – 1815) Scottish surgeon and botanist, lived here at this heritage structure. This dilapidated building was abandoned in the 1970s.
