View on The Câmara Municipal de Sintra, Sintra Town Hall or as a direct translation the Municipal Council of Sintra, is a wonderful building. When constructed at the turn of the last century other cities were building bland and imposing town halls but Sintra was creating a building more inspired by the Disney Castle. The imposing beauty of Sintra's Town Hall, Portugal. The first aspect of Câmara Municipal de Sintra which is observed by visitors is the massive clock tower and spire roof that possibly rivals the Palácio Nacional de Sintra kitchen’s two huge chimneys. The spire of the Sintra town hall is glazed with reflective green and white tiles and motifs of the Portuguese coat of arms. The main spire just to add to the extravagant styling is flanked by four smaller spires which rise from the top of the tower while at the top of the spire is an armillary sphere. The remainder of the town hall follows the Manueline style of architecture and includes false battlements and beautiful Neo-Manueline styled windows. This style of architecture was unique in Portugal and there are few other examples of such a great building of the 1910s. It must be a pleasure for the council workers of Sintra to be employed in such a wondrous building. The Câmara Municipal de Sintra was constructed between 1906 and 1909 and was situated on the site of the old Chapel of Sao. Sebastião.
