The Tyndale Monument, Wotton Under Edge, Gloucestershire, UK


A landmark on the Cotswold Way built in honour of William Tyndale who first translated the Bible into English He was strangled and burnt at the stake on 16 October 1536 at Vilvorden near Brussels The 111ft tower was built in 1866 and took three years to construct.
