NC-4, 1919. Shows the NC-4 Curtiss NC flying boat airplane which was designed by Glenn Curtiss, at Rockaway Beach, Long Island, New York State. The NC-4 was the first aircraft to fly across the Atlantic Ocean in May 1919 as part of the US Navy transatlantic flight attempt.
