A percussion target pistol, Wisniowiecki, Lemberg (Lwow/Ukraine) circa 1840. Octagonal barrel of fine rose Damascus with an eight groove rifled bore in mm calibre. Gold scroll inlays on muzzle and breech, with the gold-inlaid signature, "Wisniowieckiwe Lwowie" on top of the barrel between leafy vines. Finely engraved snail, and tang inlaid with the gold number "2". Adjustable rear sight. Richly engraved lock with decorative gold-inlaid vines and another signature. Double set trigger. Lightly carved walnut half stock with fluted grip. Small break on the butt,
