Josias Schmidlkofer, 2nd Platoon, Company A, 1st Battalion, 143rd Infantry Regiment, security forces medic, stands guard near a local Afghan school in Khawja Omari district as provincial reconstruction team engineers inspect the construction of a new addition April 9, 2012. Due to limited space, the Afghan school provides education to all school-aged girls in the morning and boys in the afternoon. The new addition will increase the capacity for students and allow more local children to attend for a full school day.
