Saint-Malo, 1797 raft; Image of the large raft at St. Malo. Frans Smooth or floating castle with which 15,000 had to be transported with horses and guns. Designed by the French engineer Le Blanc for the invasion of England from France, February 1797. Central to the raft a fortress or castle, on the four corners of wheat in the water powered by windmills or horse power. In the caption the legend 1-5.
