old underground stone wine container reclaimed by sea
these structures began underground and were attached to small private wine presses, the grape juice would run off into them and be fermented at ideal temperatures under the ground, only the cement or stone lid visible. they are lined with porcelain and this one being close to the sea was built with beach stones. the building where the wine was pressed has long since disappeared, reclaimed by the sea but this structure, due to the strength of the porcelain withstood 3 more years of pounding
