It risesto a great height, and thus presents animposing appearance; while it has somefeatures which are quite distinctive. Themasonry is of red granite, in small oblongblocks, and this secures a pleasing altar front is of beautifully-carvedwood, and the top is a fine slab of Raemoirgranite. The building was begun in 1897,and it was opened by the Primus, the late. Rev. W. Disney Innes. Bishop Jermyu, of Brechin, on 16th Novem-ber, 1898. More recently a commodiouschurch hall has been built, where the Sun-day School and the various agencies havefull scope for their work. The scheme isstill incomplete, as it is intended, in courseof time, to erect a house for the priest onthe west side and a choir and clergyvestry on the north. A magnificent organpresented to the congregation is one of thelatest additions to the equipment of thechurch. Since the opening of St. Petersthere have been constant growth and de-velopment both in membership and inChristian work. The members and com-municants have steadily increased, and the liberality of the congregation has been fullymanifested in the gradual reduction of thedebt resting on the church fabric. Thechurch has also become the centre of greatreligious activity. Many organisations arein operation. There is a very large andflourishing Sunday School; while the
