A sabre, Eastern Europe, 9th/10th centuries. Slightly curved single-edged blade with a double-edged point. There is a silver inlaid geometric design with a sunburst on the obverse of the blade. Short quillons with short broadening rectangular arms. Silver wire inlay on the reverse side. Short bent tang with one grip rivet preserved and minor remnants of the grip scales. Length 95 cm. Rare East European weapon type. A similar specimen, the so-called Charlemagne's sword, has been kept in the Secular Treasury in Vienna since the Middle Ages. historic, historical, ,
