One or two of the modifications advised didnot quite suit the Dominion Mmistr\, but ratherthan forego an immediate settlement of so irritat-ing a question, a willingness to acquiesce in allof the Earl of Carnarvons conditions was exhib-ited, and accordingly, on the i8th of December,1874, an Order-in-Council, satisfactionwith the new arrangements proposed, was sent tothe Imperial authorities.
