Tongue elongate, oval, about one-third the wddth of mouth-opening, entire and free for over half its length behind; snout short, rounded when viewed from above or in profile, the upper jaw scarcely extending beyond lower; nostrils a little nearer to tip of. Canthus rostralis marked by a very heavy ridge forking in front of eye as a preocular crest, continuing above the eye, and then turning outwards behind it as a postocular crest, a short branch running into the large, elliptical, posteriorly.
