Fernsehturm TV tower and the red brick city hall, Rotes Rathaus in Mitte Berlin
Rotes Rathaus, Red Town Hall houses offices of Mayor and Senate of State of Berlin, Red Clinker Brick building designed by Architect Hermann Friedrich Waesemann, Rathausstraße, Mitte, Berlin The building was damaged by Allied bombing during World War II and rebuilt to original plans between 1951 and 1956. During the years that the city was divided the rebuilt Rotes Rathaus was in the Soviet sector and served as the town hall of East Berlin, while the Rathaus Schöneberg was the town hall of West Berlin. After reunification, the administration of reunified Berlin moved into the Rotes Rathaus on 1 October 1991
