Martin Mere, Burscough, Lancashire. 17th November 2018. UK Weather: 3pm Wildlife Feed at Martin Mere as Lisa, a Reserve Mnager distributes wheat to swans, ducks and geese who have found their way to the nature reserve from foreign climes. The reserve, set up by Sir Peter Scott, is a winter home for up to 2000 Whooper Swans, 14,000 plus pink-footed geese from Iceland, & hundreds of Shelduck from Germany. The regular feed helps sustain the birds during the winter season and gives some relief to local landowners whose crop is favoured by the migrant birds. Credit: MediaWorldImagea/AlamyLiveNews.
