He is the son of Thomas and Ellen(Stapleton) Kelly. Mr. Kelly received his education in the public schools of Chicago and in the law depart-ment of Northwestern University. He was admitted to practice in the Illinois bar in 1893, engaging in generalpractice and becoming the attorney for several large corporations. In politics he is a democrat, and has beena member of the state central committee from the .scc(]nd congressional district for eight years. In 1912 hewas a candidate for the nomination for states atlurncy of Cook county. He is a member of the Illinois andChicago Bar Knights of Columbus, Koyal League, Royal Arcanum, C. O.
